Start eClinic
Terms and Conditions
- You must be 18 years of age or older to use this service. In certain circumstances this is lowered to 16 or 17 years of age, for example if you are not in full time education.
- Just because you use the eClinic doesn’t mean you have to stick with it. You are entitled to speak directly to a clinician by other means (e.g. face-to-face or by telephone) if you so-wish.
- It’s easy for misunderstandings to occur during text-chat because of the lack of emotional clues (such as tone of voice). For example, sometimes spelling mistakes might result in an altered or unintended context. Try to think about this if you feel awkward about something said.
- To preserve the clinicians privacy, you are not permitted to make copies or publish any “live” conversations held on this service.
- We will delete the text of your conversation after 24 hours from the end of your appointment. We will keep a record of the time and duration of your appointment as well as an anonymous copy of your patient questionnaire for the purposes of evaluating this trial .
- Conversations held on this service are treated as confidential. However, in certain circumstances such as emerging evidence of risk to yourself or others, we may need to share details of the conversation with additional people who are involved with your care (e.g your doctor).
- In the case of appointment eClinic, we will update your medical records with a summary of the conversation held. This is normal practice.
- Please avoid using slang or abbreviations during chat as we might not fully understand what you are trying to say. We are only able to communicate in ENGLISH. Please also refrain from using profanities (swearing).
- Our computer systems are secured and only used by our clinicians to help safeguard the privacy of your conversations and avoid the possibility of interception.
- Some companies keep records of the websites that their employees visit. If you are using this service from a computer at work, bear in mind that your employer might keep a record. Likewise, your computer and internet browser may retain traces of your visit.
- We cannot guarantee that your messages will be received as there is always possibility for technical error. If we get cut-off, please try and reach us by telephone on 01724 276282 or by email at poiesisTeam@rdash.nhs.uk so we may continue the session.
